Icon meets icon. Proud to present Kay Bojesen’s monkey in our #101 t-shirt.
Danish designer Kay Bojesen (1886-1958) created his most beloved wooden figure, the monkey, in 1951. It was designed as a coat hanger peg for kids. Today it is a true design classic and a dear friend, following us through life.
At Mads Nørgaard – Copenhagen we are proud to have the chance to dress the monkey. In collaboration with Kay Bojesen Denmark the monkey is now wearing our classic #101 t-shirt. The monkey in a painted t-shirt comes in two variants: the original #101 in white with black stripes from 1967 and a new version in black with white stripes, both with red neckline. We call the new version KAY and has put it into production in a sewing room in Korsør (DK). The new KAY t-shirt is exclusively available in Nørgaard paa Strøget and at madsnorgaard.com.
The monkey is produced in FSC®-certified teak and limba wood and comes in three sizes: S (H: 18,5 cm), M (H: 28 cm) & L (H: 47 cm). Every figure is created by hand. No two of them are alike.
