For Spring/Summer 2025, Mads Nørgaard - Copenhagen encourages you to explore your identity in terms of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, and culture. We believe self-portraits can help us understand ourselves, challenge societal norms, and connect with the world around us. In June, casting director Emma Matell spent a week in the streets of Copenhagen, discovering a diverse range of individuals. Everyone was invited to Mads Nørgaard’s headquarters to create their self-portrait. Through the images in our new publication, you can experience the process: the search for a pose, the inner strength, the unexpected joy, and the final decisive moment captured in the shot. The book beautifully demonstrates how different we all are—and why that’s so wonderful.
“For Copenhagen Fashion Week, we’re focused on showcasing how incredible our differences are. Everyone wears our clothes differently. Each person is unique, and that’s something to celebrate. Self-portraits allow us to share our own stories. In June, we explored the streets of Copenhagen, inviting people from all backgrounds to demonstrate how cool and diverse we all are through self-portraits. To celebrate this, we’ve created a book and are hosting a big summer party.’
– Mads Nørgaard, Founder
