SUPERFLEX launched the work in 2002 as posters in the streets of Copenhagen as a comment on the increasingly reactionary immigration politics in Denmark. Sadly, the work is still relevant today. In retrospect, Danish immigration polices seem like an avant-garde of xenophobic policy-making: today, all over Europe, parties on both the right and left run on platforms which stoke anti-immigrant sentiment and promise more closed borders.

Foreigners, Please Don't Leave Us Alone with the Danes is a central work in the 60th Biennale Arte in Venice, and it is simultaneously being shown at SMK in Copenhagen. On this occasion, SUPERFLEX has invited Mads Nørgaard to produce a T-shirt with the work printed on the chest.

The SUPERFLEX x Mads Nørgaard – Copenhagen t-shirts will be available from July 30 in Nørgaard paa Strøget, Mads Nørgaard – Copenhagen in Aarhus and Berlin, and online at madsnorgaard.com here. The Foreigners, Please Don’t Leave Us Alone with the Danes poster will be exclusive available in Nørgaard paa Strøget.
